Rhondda-Cynon-Taff County
Large, mainly coniferous woodland at the top of the Rhondda Fawr Fach Valley, with some areas in RCT Council ownership. From Blaencwm (SN922021) there is an easy 1/2 mile walk up to waterfalls and picnic tables, with a view point along the way. BBQ site and car park. Calorie-counted map of this walk is available from the Forestry Commission. Turn off the A4061 at Treherbert, and follow roads north to Blaenrhondda, and beyond to start of track at SN926002 which leads into Penpych woodland. Alternative walking routes are on the Blaenrhondda / Blaencwm railway paths, or a steep track from car park at SN922021 to top of mountain for open views over the valley.
