Coed Lleol Training Bursary Application Form (Word)

Coed Lleol can provide funding, in the form of a work exchange, to support places on courses that build the capacity of social forestry practitioners and those people wanting to engage others in using woodlands for wellbeing.

Bursaries are intended to fund up to 50% of the costs, but 100% funding can sometimes be provided where the individual can demonstrate the benefit this will have on people they engage with, and where no personal or match funding can be found to attend the course.  The budget is limited and we want to make this offer available to as many people as possible.

Before or after the training, Coed Lleol will expect the beneficiary write an article outlining their experiences or insights of the course as well as their plans for how they will use it.  Coed Lleol will also expect volunteer leader time towards the Actif Woods project. The number of hours will be relevant to the amount of contribution made, and the level of skill and experience of the leader.  For example, if £200 was provided towards the course, it would be expected that a beginner learner would give 15 hours of their time (this is equivalent to about 5 times 3 hour sessions=approx. £10/hour).  Plus the written article which will equate to £50 of the course cost contribution.

Coed Lleol will pay the course costs to the training provider once a written agreement is in place with regard to the article and volunteer hours.  You will pay your contribution to the course directly to Coed Lleol.
