Restoring the link between people and woodlands

Where will our money go?

We are looking for funding on both a national and local level. In conjunction with meeting your criteria funds could go towards delivery of our activity groups, training, monitoring and evaluation. We have a fairly low capital expenditure.

Over the last year and a half, we have established 15 regular woodland activity groups across Wales. We have had a total of 3098 attendances at our woodland activity sessions, with 573 participants registered on our database so far. Comments and questionnaire data gathered consistently show that our activities are having a positive influence on the lives of participants, and their health.

In the last year and a half, participants of Actif Woods Wales have spent more than 230 hours making improvements such as; clearing pathways, removing invasive species and litter picking thereby improving access to woodlands around Wales.

We have also developed a new Social Forestry OCN course and offered further training in woodland and health skills to many activity leaders, volunteers and participants.
