Education, Skills & Volunteering
Woods are a great place for kids, with lots to see and do. Why not go along to one of our Woodland Events to see what's on? Alternatively, you could join a local group such as Wildlife Watch, The Woodcraft Folk, or the local Scouts or Brownies, all of whom often organise days out in the woods learning things and having fun.

Woodland skills such as coppice crafts and charcoal burning have traditionally played a big part in rural life. From rustic furniture to charcoal, bilberry wine or wild mushrooms, local woodland products are making a comeback. Why not go to an event or course where you can try your hand at green woodworking or charcoal burning, and make something to take home with you.
