Tree O'Clock at Blaen Bran Community Woodland

Tree O'Clock was a Breathing Places initiative to encourage people to plant trees during a single hour on 5 December 2009.

Blaen Bran Community Woodland (BBCW) in South East Wales took part in this national event. David Williams, secretary of the group, said “BBCW weren't sure what to expect in looking to take part in Tree O'Clock on 5th December, but it was a great opportunity to have all the committee and a wide range of members involved. We had to fill in some documentation from 'Breathing Spaces', but they were very helpful - and a couple of BBC Wales staff came along as observers. Local scouts and their families got in on the act - and some 2400 trees were planted. We had all ages - from six to eighty - and it was great to see groups working together, with the weather smiling on us as well. It was quite a lot of hard work and planning - but a great project to get people involved in.”
