together with some planted exotics such as redwoods and
monkey puzzle trees. The woodland floor is a mass of colour
in spring with bluebells, snowdrops and daffodils. The
woodland is open all year; a charge is made for entry which
also includes entry to the castle grounds which contain an
art gallery, café , toilets and gift shop. The woodland and
castle is well signed just off the A55 at St Asaph. |

retaining mature trees. The Heart of the Forestry Commission
Red Squirrel reserve. The most likely place to see them is
among the mature Norway Spruce surrounding the car park. |
