Section 3. Risk assessment


A risk assessment must be completed for all activities. The risk assessment should follow these steps;

  • Consider the potential hazards – the Prompt list will help you with this

  • Complete a hazard checklist for the event/activity.

  • Complete a risk assessment for each of the hazards you have identified;

  • Decide if they pose a significant risk.

  • If you cannot remove the hazard then identify measures to control and minimise it.

  • Record the corrective actions required, who is going to do them and when they are going to be completed

  • Re-visit your assessment if any element of the event/activity significantly changes.
