B. 7) Funding


There is a wide range of options for funding Health and Wellbeing initiatives in Wales but here are some of the more specific sources. If you are a member of the Wales Council for Voluntary Action they will conduct a funding search on your behalf.


Awards for All Wales – Big Lottery Fund

Award grants of between £500 and £5,000 for people to take part in heritage and community activities and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community


The Social Risk Fund is a small grants scheme administered by WCVA, which aims to support projects that take chances and do something innovative to regenerate local communities across Wales.


The Morgan Foundation runs a programme to donate minibuses to eligible organisations in North Wales which work with children.


Arts Council Wales

Details of funding opportunities, a database of artists and details of the three council offices in Wales can be found here, along with Lottery programme information.


The Coalfields Regeneration Trust

Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust

Sports, the arts, community and the environment

Relevant Funding themes: Activate aims to provide funding for new or existing projects in Wales that demonstrate the capacity to develop and educate people by sustainable means within the areas of sports, the arts, community or the environment.


Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales

Social and Community needs, education and training

Sports Council Wales

The Council’s main focus is to increase the frequency of participation by encouraging those who are currently sedentary to become more active and to encourage people, young and old, to develop a portfolio of activities through which to achieve healthy levels of activity.
