B. 4) How Can I find Service Providers or Potential Project Partners?

There are, as yet, only a few examples of woodland initiatives in Wales that provide a comprehensive service to health care agencies and community support bodies in the form of a venue and activities. It may be the case that the health care agencies or support body has to be the lead partners in such initiatives as in the Llanfyllin case study. In such an instance the lead partner may have to contact a local woodland manager, crafts person or trainer. Contact the Coed Lleol Partnership Officer who will be able to inform you of any existing woodland health initiatives in your area or potential partners who may be approached to form new projects. Additionally these points of contact may be useful.

The regional Cyd Coed Officer will be able to inform you of Community Woodland Groups in Objective One areas who are either undertaking woodland health projects or who have the potential to do so.

The Mentro Allan – Venture Out initiatives are throughout most of Wales. Contact your local project and ask them to include woodland activities in their programme.

Tir Coed has trained Mental Health Support Workers in mid and west Wales in green woodworking skills and provided basic tool kits for Mental Health Centres through their Woodlands for Wellbeing project. They have links with woodland community groups throughout rural Wales, as well as with woodland-related Service Providers.
